Visit the leaning Tower of Pisa, experience the ‘fashion capital’ of the World, Milan. How about a real Spaghetti a la Bolognaise from Bologna. There’s so much to see and do in Italy as the landscape and traditions change as you go further south.
When to visit?
From the summer heat of the Mediterranean to winter snow in the Alps, cheap flights to Italy give you access to the full range of the European climate. Just choose your weather and buy your ticket. Be warned, if you decide to go in August, some of the more famous attractions can get crowded (Venice is better in the Spring or Autumn).
What are the must-see attractions?
Rome is literally built on the foundation of the Roman Empire. Follow in the footsteps of Julius Caesar, or in more recent times, the famous Da Vinci Code through Vatican City and marvel at the famous paintings and sculptures, including Michelangelo’s astonishing Pieta and the Sistine Chapel. For more fine examples of Renaissance art and wonderful architecture, head north to beautiful Florence. If you are heading south; close to the lively Latin city of Naples are the ruins of Pompeii.
